RELATE AVON COUNSELLING FOR YOUNG PEOPLE

Relate children and young people's counselling service is for any young person over 10 who is having problems at home. Our counsellors are able to help you to talk about the things that are worrying you.

Young people tell us that seeing a Relate counsellor on their own helps because they are independent from either your school or home life.

Our counsellors help you to talk honestly and openly and can support you with problems like family breakdown; moving in with a second family; or bullying at school.

What can I expect from this service?

You can expect to be helped by a supportive and non-judgmental counsellor either at our offices in Bristol or you might able to see a counsellor in your school. You can be referred by a teacher, social worker, or you can book to see a counsellor yourself - what you say is confidential, unless the counsellor is worried for your safety.

How will it benefit me?

Many of our young clients tell us that they feel happier after they see a Relate counsellor and are better able to deal with their problems. In some cases, the Relate counsellor helped them to concentrate better in their school-work, or get on better with their friends and peers.

Who Do I Call?

Phone 0117 942 8444 to find out more. There is a charge for this service but a bursary may be available to help with the cost.
